HELSINKY ‘ GATES ‘ 2023

The ‘Gates’ exhibition was curated by The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Slovakia’s formation and its diplomatic connections with Finland. The exhibition featured a collection of paintings, each accompanied by a brief description and carefully selected music to enhance the immersive experience and convey the essence of the painting’s narrative.

Marián’s exhibition hosted at this gallery proved to be truly exceptional. It marked already third exhibition in Tatra Gallery, and this one was particularly special as it commemorated Marián’s 60th birthday. The exhibition showcased a curated selection of the most intriguing pieces from the artist’s collection, accumulated over many years. What made this exhibition even more special was the surprise visit of former president Andrej Kiska, who attended the event and added an extra layer of importance to the occasion.

The exhibition project “Through the Gates” in Rumanský Art Centre presented the new works of the painter Marián Čižmárik, inspired by a wide spectrum of external and internal human relationships with reality, one’s own existence, history, tradition, and leaving a mark. The exhibition is enhanced by the intersections of his creative activity in relation to music, poetry, and theater.

POMALÉ SVETLO VĹN | THE SLOW LIGHT OF WAVES

The exhibition featuring Marián Čižmárik’s paintings and the launch of his new book, “Pomalé svetlo vĺn,” took place at Ludovit Fulla Gallery in Ružomberok . The displayed art, combined with the poems and stories by Vladislav Vaľko and essays by Karol Maliňák, came together to create an emotional and thoughtful experience. “The Slow Light Of Waves” connected the authors into a united and coherent expression.

The selection of works aimed to create a complete and harmonious piece with a balanced mix of words and visuals, ultimately resulting in a beautiful book. Additionally, this event aimed to highlight the significance of fundamental values in people’s lives.

In the music and drama program arranged for this event, Vladimír Vaľko recited poems and stories, and Vincent Jaš composed music inspired by the paintings and texts from the book. “The book ‘Pomalé svetlo vĺn’ was published by the Koloman Sokol Society, 2016.”
