The exhibition featuring Marián Čižmárik’s paintings and the launch of his new book, “Pomalé svetlo vĺn,” took place at Ludovit Fulla Gallery in Ružomberok . The displayed art, combined with the poems and stories by Vladislav Vaľko and essays by Karol Maliňák, came together to create an emotional and thoughtful experience. “The Slow Light Of Waves” connected the authors into a united and coherent expression. The book was published by the Koloman Sokol Society.

Marián was the visionary behind the interior design and decor of the upscale restaurant and accommodation establishment known as “Gašperov Mlyn” in Batizovce. This interior features his artworks it draws inspiration from the folk creativity and the lives of Slovak ancestors in the region. The furniture replicates the style of furnishings found in the homes of farmers in the Sub-Tatra region.”

Marián Čižmárik created three stained glass windows in the chapel of St. Anne in the Gothic Church of St. George in Spišská Sobota between 2002 and 2008. The Roman Catholic Church of St. George, originally of late Romanesque style and later rebuilt in the 15th century in the Gothic style, is a National Cultural Monument. The main, late Gothic altar of St. George originates from the workshop of Master Paul of Levoča. In November 2013, Marián installed the final stained glass window in the main nave of the church. This last window complements the two preceding ones. It revolves around the theme of touch and features the heart as a symbol of Christ, veiled yet simultaneously revealed and touched by elements that are closest to humanity,” Marián Čižmárik explained. These symbols represent fire, water, sky, and earth.
Marián Čižmárik crafted together six stained glass windows for the original gothic windows of St. George’s Church. “Above all, it’s a great honor, as well as humility, with which one approaches this space, for not only Master Paul but also the entire Gothic architecture of the church deserves it,” M. Čižmárik noted. The initiative for the stained glass windows was undertaken by the former local administrator of the Roman Catholic parish, Michal Lipták.
